Holidays-Strike days.

We have this week got round to the last weeks holidays pick,each persons holiday sheet has had 2 more sheets attached with the workings on how many days/hrs you have lost due to the strikes. We knew this was coming but we have been told that if you have 2 weeks to pick but have lost 1 day you may only pick 1 weeks holiday. This affects almost all the office. We are going to have 30 odd people all trying to get in 4 days or so of holidays! We can’t get the odd lieu day now so how the hell can they accommodate this? How are other offices handling this?

Leave is issued over a financial year , there must be a reason for this? so how can they reduce our leave from the next financial year for something that happened in this one?

I can't work out from the OP whether he's referring to the last of this year's hols or next year's as surely if it's the latter they can all be fitted in over 12 months and, as you say, deductions have already been made from this year's hols for most people.

I've been searching for info (I'm sure I read it on here but I can't find it) but found it in the faq section on the people app It's all explained why/how they've done it, 1st item on the list of faq's.

I've had a look ta, I still cant see how reducing our leave for the next year because of strikes that occurred this financial year is right I recall some years ago saturdays were occasionally our easy day and we might get back a bit early, one manager would try to claim that time back the following week, he never got his way obviously because it was a new working week, it seems to me this taking next years leave is a similar thing?

In my office 4 weeks of the holidays are assigned and then you have to go around asking to swap them if they're not suitable. It's a s**t way of working, I've currently got zero weeks off where my child is off school.

It's only taken from next year if you had none left in this year to take it from.
The only other option would have been a straight deduction from wages.
Is it legally sound?
Probably just about.
Is it morally disgusting.
Definitely.
Are we surprised?
Unfortunately not.

My real point was not being able to put 2 weeks in as you may have lost a day,surely they should allow you to pick the 2 then work it from there ie use a lieu day or work a day off.

Same at our place, we filled in holiday sheets and a manager chose them for us!!
Some of us got none out of 6 choices, not one. Told to swop around ourselves. If my FIRST choice was first week in September

How many days a year do you have to attend or be on the sick to get the full entitlement? How many days did you work, probably in excess of the requirement, as overtime is paid at the same rate surely if you have worked enough days they can’t take any off you?
