Re: Overtime ban
I've read people on here wanting DPR's brought back and even advocate work being given to Parcel Force instead of getting kept 'in house'. You're going to want your DO to be as busy as possible over the next 6 months in my view, once the takeover/USO change happens staff will be made surplus - granted more may be moved up to full time, but headcount will certainly be down.

What world are you in? Most offices are short-staffed and have more work than they can cope with already.

Re: Overtime ban
Well take it from me as a person who works in an office with three reps, the silence does not mean nothing is happening behind the scenes, and not all reps have meekly accepted what is happening, some have put their job on the line by questioning the shambles.worktotime wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 05:46we dont have a rep anymore as he chuck it due to all this going on , posties where asking him whats going on and even he couldnt answer it , so that just says it all .COMMUNICATION UNIONBarnacle wrote: ↑13 Jan 2025, 21:50Why don’t you ask your rep instead of making the assumption that just because you are not told of behind the scenes activity, that must mean that nothing is happening and that you are being treated like fungus?worktotime wrote: ↑13 Jan 2025, 19:42really , so they just treating there members like mushrooms then ? , kept in the dark and fed on s**tBarnacle wrote: ↑13 Jan 2025, 16:31I can assure you that the CWU are indeed on this.worktotime wrote: ↑12 Jan 2025, 15:37yeah its disgusting , we was told that it will continue until the new bloke takes over so at least till the end of March , so the job will just be impossible , i just cannot believe the cwu havent been on to this or are they aware that this is happening and doing f**k all about it .,

Yes we love being in the position of so much work that delivery's that are not even attempted are marked not in or inaccessible to hide the real goings on.

No postie that doesn't want overtime wants to deliver 2 days mail each week for 3 years and counting.
No postie that doesn't want overtime wants a round that is 30+ minutes too big for most of the year.
Goes without saying.
People want a manageable workload so that they have a sense of achievement at the end of the day, and so that they don't get whined at by management for bringing stuff back and so they can go home in peace and enjoy their afternoon.

Re: Overtime ban
It’s purely for managers to sponge the last few budget bonuses before the takeover. Hopefully the new owners will get rid of these overpaid crooks. Makes you laugh, got 5 managers in our office on DOMs wages earning £48k a year even after they reintroduced the DOM position.dazzler123 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2025, 16:58Do we know why this overtime ban is in place immediately after raking in a fortune over Xmas? Are the books that bad or are they just being hyper awkward twats?

Too much work, and not paying employees to do it.chickenwittle wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 13:49A workforce moaning about to much work, you couldn’t make it up.
Too much work, and not meeting service obligations.
Too much work, and managers not giving a toss.
You don't have to make that up.

Re: Overtime ban
There's a real physiological impact on a person that cannot complete the work they should be doing.(Even when unachievable) Impossible walks do damage to the service but also to the humans that cannot complete them. It's not always easy for some to switch off and just bring it back. Those that have witnessed the service decline are probably most affected.

It's the {Communication Workers} {Union}. Not the {Communication} {Workers' Union}. I once saw a document from Area and if I had a red pen I would have marked every line. I appreciate not all were schooled in the classics so I let the atrocious grammar and general confused message slide. The spelling mistakes, though, were unforgivable as it was clearly word processed and not produced on a typewriter.worktotime wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 05:46we dont have a rep anymore as he chuck it due to all this going on , posties where asking him whats going on and even he couldnt answer it , so that just says it all .COMMUNICATION UNION![]()

Re: Overtime ban
You are paid to work a certain amount of hours, there is no service obligations in your personal contract, it’s on the company and it’s their choice to work this way.Subman wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 15:20Too much work, and not paying employees to do it.chickenwittle wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 13:49A workforce moaning about to much work, you couldn’t make it up.

Re: Overtime ban
You need to change your mindset towards the job , see it as working a certain amount of hours a day and things become a lot easier.norris9 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 14:31Manager?chickenwittle wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 13:49A workforce moaning about to much work, you couldn’t make it up.
