God, imagine if you worked somewhere with a sink estate, and no safe places & dodgy neighbours. I

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
on my round most of them work fulltime so never home, usually collect from callers, never doorstep so we are going to take out the parcel twice and bring it back twice?
What are fulltime workers going to do if they are not in during the day?

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
You say booking in time but what will actually be done with the pkts you bring back? Surely they will still need to be booked on at callers office to be put out again for auto redelivery? Or do we just leave them by the frame to get mixed up with the current days pkts. Imagine you get another couple of pkts on Tuesday for the same address you had a couple of pkts for on Monday! This is seriously messed upclashcityrocker wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023, 19:09Apparently the trial office managed to redeliver 70% of the parcels which otherwise would have been 739d, thus saving on the booking in time, redelivery palaver and Customer Service Point time.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023, 18:56I'm still struggling to see how this is a good idea, currently if we leave a card the recipient can choose to have the item redelivered when it's convenient for them rather than us automatically bringing it back the next day when it's unlikely they'll be in, so what's the advantage?

You’ll leave them at your frame after you “book them in”yourself via the indoor tile on your PDArambo1 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023, 22:17You say booking in time but what will actually be done with the pkts you bring back? Not about whether it works all about the share holders, successful trials you say but of course they are
just like all the other successful trials we've had .Mail volumes' falling for decades yes but at the rate they said all those years ago I must be only taking one or two letters out a day ,many different uniform trials all wonderful not a leaking waterproof insight I'm in bloody clover and what makes me the happiest is knowing I'm going to fill the pockets of those with the most already.
Packets will go missing redelivery requests will go unfulfilled because no one will know where they are the SPS system will be full of them

Also will Royal Mail stop using this "your friendly postie" bullshit in their ads.

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
Adding yet more time onto already unachievable workloads, both at the start and end of deliveries. 10 minutes at the end of the delivery to empty van, etc, add at least 15 minutes to go through 2 or 3 bags of undelivered packets, attaching stickers to those that were first attempted deliveries.BigSacks wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023, 22:34

It’s almost like these stupid ideas are being thought up by people who have no idea about the intricacies of the actual job, and are designed to just annoy us.

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
So you go out day one with parcel no answer, take it back out the next day but cut off so parcel returns to office, try again day 3 no answer so you book it in to the callers office anyway where customer would have picked it up from on day 2

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
So cutting off even earlier than we do currently because an extra ten minutes is needed back at the D.O.?BigSacks wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023, 22:34

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
Ah the classic time is built in to the duty line, yeah just like when we were told to deliver to neighbours, empty post boxes, jet wash the van, do the van check every day, one of my favourites is the duties that take 10-15 minutes each way to get to as opposed to them that start outside the office but yep you've guessed it the travelling time is built in to the duty

Re: Automatic re-delivery from 2 May
Paying 90 pence per drop off hmm sense the pay would rise at that rate so that will be a no then for that oneMr Rush wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023, 21:10Is there anything else our alleged competitors do that we don't currently do? We've mimicked pickups, taking photos, now automatic redelivery. Doorstepping?
I'd quite happily try neighbours to get rid of stuff if it weren't for the fact that any slack on delivery is immediately crammed with even more lapsing.
