I think a deal is needed urgently even if its not optimal, Any money is better than staying where we are.
Theyve moved on the terms thanks to the strikers, but its important to not push it to far and end up with either nothing or even worse on the dole queue fighting over jobs at Alsi for just a tenner an hour and terms no better than whats bein offered.

Agree with this, they have moved somewhat, its up to the union to move as well, we can't have it all our way, we have to show we accept something of the changes, the union keep on harking about 3 hour later starts, that's just not true, it'll be about 10% of the workforce that will have this later start and fased in

There will also be the 40% who will be an hour to 2 hours later which people seem to have forgotten and everyone else in the pipeline will have to move to later starts surely even allowing for Royal Mail and it's lack of logic when making plans. All this for less than inflation pay rise and the commit to deliver which basically means you will never know what time you finish dictated by management and PDA's hope this is all worked out better than Horizon was not got a great deal of faith in Royal Mail and their IT Department as it's over 2 weeks and still no foreign mail posting allowed thanks to 1 cyber attack

It's going to be down to what changes get made to arrival times of the work into inward MCs. If say they get made 2 hours later, night shifts in MCs will start/finish 2 hours later, all dispatches to DOs will be sent 2 hours later (maybe arrive in the DOs 3 hours later due to traffic). DOs will also start later (2 or 3 hours later depending on new arrival times of the work)

Maybe because RM made a large windfall during the pandemic? However because of the CEOs incentive scheme he chose to give it away to shareholders, instead of the workforce who earned it for him. In other words short term benefits for ST are more important to him than the long term viability of the company. No doubt he will be leaving within the next 12 months with a golden handshake.

That doesn't answer nothing. If no one asked for a "cost of living crisis" payment you think RM would just give you one off of their own back? Let's summise how the conversation went, RM "maybe we should give all the workforce a cost of living crisis paymment?" ST "well, no one's asked for one or even mentioned it so.....?"

Sorry my opinion was not to your satisfaction however several decent large employers did.

He didn't "choose" any of it, that's how businesses work. Shareholders put in their money and take the profits/losses while employees are paid a wage.

Yes he did, some decent employers paid there employees a cost of living payment.

Or if you look at it another way, those 10% who have still been going home at 12 will finally catch up with the likes of our office who have had finishes of 3 - 4.15pm for a good few yrs now.
