I worked for Duck Pond Deliveries, although in warehouse I left after I think three months, the way managers treat their staff is on a par with RM, health & safety was a shocker there, couldn’t say what it was like as a driver but don’t expect an early finish on Christmas Eve, one driver when we went back in after Christmas didn’t finish until after 8pm on the 24th 😫

Just seen a post on Workplace where a DPD driver had delivered their 130th parcel at 17:30 and still had another 120 parcels to deliver!! Things may change at RM but at least we still have start and finish times not just given a load of parcels and expected to deliver them all in one shift.

don’t think it’s uncommon either for a DPD driver drive up to an hour away to deliver their first item, (maybe even further away than that I’m guessing), not trying to put you off or anything.

You don’t process your own items by the way of sorting as such, that’s what warehouse staff are for, when you arrive at your depot you scan all your items in sequence, mark up in sequence, load up then on to your first delivery point, like I say I’m not trying to put you off but I certainly wouldn’t work for them again.

That probably explains why all the DPD drivers in my area give the impression that they come from the large city 45 mins or so drive away each day.

This where driving job laws need to change in my opinion. An HGV driver with maybe 1 drop from Glasgow to London has to abide by TACO laws but someone in a small van can be at it for 8+ hours a day in and out of the van 200+ times. Who would be more fatigued?
