Hi and thanks in advance to anyone reading this post and for any help.....
I posted a parcel to Italy on 15th December (clearly addressed) which somehow was sent to Poland by mistake. It arrived back to me on 16th January without being redirected to Italy. I need to repost it urgently to Italy as the item has a use by date, but feel that I shouldn't have to - 1) pay the postage again (£14 tracked & signed for), and 2) not go through the hassle of making a claim. I want to go to the post office, explain whats happened and have them not charge me anything and just send the parcel as none of this my fault at all.
What is likely to be the outcome of this situation please.
Many thanks for any replies.
DanG

The Post Office and the Royal Mail are different organisations.danG wrote: ↑18 Jan 2021, 14:08I need to repost it urgently to Italy as the item has a use by date, but feel that I shouldn't have to - 1) pay the postage again (£14 tracked & signed for), and 2) not go through the hassle of making a claim. The Post Office won't post your parcel for free. You may not want to but you will need to pay again and submit a claim
Mistakes happen - the postal authorities in Poland should really have just forwarded it to Italy.

Re: Parcel delivered to wrong country then returned to me
Thanks for that. It’s crazy that they didn’t just send it to Italy instead of back to me.
I didn’t mention in my original post but I had actually already posted the same parcel in October but the recipient failed to collect it from the post office in Italy so it was returned to me after a month so I’ll be paying twice for postage when I shouldn’t be paying anything!
