Re: MAIL BAGS!
it's a pity that L&C aren't in one of her Majesty's Big Houses sewing them back together . Seriously, it sounds like a cost cutting exercise on RM's part , it just makes more work for someone else; putting bag ties on them to stop mail falling out of the holes .thehappyones wrote:CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHO MAKES,AND OR REPAIRS THESE BAGS(THE GREY ONES)

http://www.sgbaker.co.uk/mail.htm
We are exclusive suppliers to the Royal Mail of 100% of their mailbag requirements and we also supply several other well known international mail organisations.
To give the mail bags a long life they are manufactured from tough and durable woven polypropylene fabric that has been specially developed to achieve specific performance criteria covering tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Additionally the bags are sewn using two rows of lockstitch which prevents the hem from unravelling should it become damaged in use.
Although the bags are typically loaded to a maximum of 11kg each hook has been designed to withstand a force of 30kg. This allows for shock loading and ensures a long service life.
The bags are size 600mm x 1100mm and are available unprinted ex stock. Click here for details
The bags can be printed to your requirements subject to a minimum order quantity of 5000 bags, Contact us for detail.
The mailbags have an innovative system of 4 hooks evenly spaced around the mouth, this enables them to hang in a frame and allows the mail to be dropped in. The photograph above shows the hook is securely stitched into the bag and it also demonstrates the tongue that grips the frame to help prevent accidental slipping off whilst still allowing easy removal
Standard colours are blue, grey, green, red or transparent (pictured right). The coloured bags are ideal for keeping different types of mail separate and the transparent bag is especially useful when emptying as it allows the user to clearly see all the mail has been removed. Contact us for details

STICK YA SACKS UP YA ARSE!
11kg a bag load.?????? BOLLOX MORE LIKE.....
In a MC the AVE weight of a sack was well over 11kg... EASY.. I used to be a Bag opener for the Manual and MECH and the MECH work on a full bag was far more than 11kg EVERYTIME... RM never had the balls to go to there BIG customers and tell em off... H&S in the workplace when it suited AGAIN... Not to help the poor bastards humping thousands of bags a day. But just and only when RM wanted to cover there scrawny backs n arses!!!
SAME OLD SHITE.... I also works on The CFC.. and again... WELL WELL OVER 11KG... Collection drivers had more to do and less time to do it in.,. Run double ups and made to work under cutbacks... So bags were mostly over weight... SEND A O.W. Bag back to be weighed and checked and the screw thought you where mad and that you only done it to cause a row..... TRUE....
Sad nasty bastards then wanted no part in a bloke doing there backs in when carrying a O.W bag... They quote the H&S rule book on handling at ya!!!
FECK OFF SCREW!!!
:cfo :lfo
If you do the job proppa you get slagged.. If you cut corners. You get no backing and slagged for doing ya back in if carrying a O.W. Bag...
joke is on us.... WORK TO YOUR 318'S

Re: STICK YA SACKS UP YA ARSE!
You are right about Overweight Bags , spent six weeks going to the Physiotherapist ( which RM paid for ) and yes RM don't have the guts to tell the Customers if they start sending silly weights like 17kg + and tend to make excuses for them. Also claim compo and RM will make things very difficult .L Tommo wrote:11kg a bag load.?????? BOLLOX MORE LIKE.....
