A much-loved postman has been raising money in honour of his father,
Residents in Bricket Wood will recognise the face of Mike Izzard because he is the village's dedicated postie.
Away from his job, Mr Izzard has been busy creating a calendar for 2021, with proceeds going to Dementia UK.
Mr Izzard's father was diagnosed with dementia last year and is living in a care home.
His charitable quest has been supported by the people of Bricket Wood.
Caron Quine said: "Mike is a fantastic asset to our village, he is kind, helpful, and he goes out of his way as a postie, so we wanted to help him and show support at such a distressing time."
Calendar photographs were taken by Wendy Gill of the postman around the village, as well as at Nast Hyde Halt, a derelict train station in Hatfield that Mr Izzard has restored.
To purchase a ‘Mike on a Mission’ calendar, contact Mr Izzard on Facebook Messenger by searching for the page 'Nast Hyde Halt Mike'.
