Brazen thief steals parcels from roof of postman's van in Fleetwood

A postman chased a thief who attempted to steal parcels from the roof of his van in Fleetwood.

Police were called to reports of a theft in Eamont Place at around 12.25pm yesterday (Wednesday, August 12).

When officers arrived they discovered a brazen thief had attempted to steal two parcels that had been briefly left on the roof of a Royal Mail van.

The plucky postman attempted to chase the offender, who dropped one of the parcels during his getaway, but was unable to catch him.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "A man had taken two parcels placed on the roof of a post office van and made off from the scene.

"The postman chased the offender who dropped one of the parcels before running off."
