Police had to break up an angry outburst at Perth’s main Royal Mail sorting office on Tuesday.
Officers were sent to the mail depot on Breadalbane Terrace after staff called in about a member of the public causing a disruptive scene at 8.20am.
Onlookers reported there being an argument over an item of mail that could not be found.
Other people attempting to come in to collect post at the Breadalbane Terrace Royal Mail office were for a short time asked to use an alternative entrance to the building while the matter was resolved.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed there had been an early morning fracas: “Police Scotland was called at 8.20am on Tuesday, April 28, following a report that two women were causing a disturbance within.
“Officers attended and two women were warned re their behaviour and advice and assistance given to staff.
“No further police action [was taken].”
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Royal Mail has a zero tolerance approach in relation to any abuse of our people.
“It is unfortunate that we were not able to locate the customer’s item in this instance.
“We have advised the customer to contact our customer services team, who will be able to assist with any claim for loss.”
