ROYAL MAIL: EX POST OFFICE EMPLOYEES – 2.8% PAY INCREASE

I am pleased to report that all former Post Office employees, who redeployed into Royal Mail via the MTSF Agreement will be receiving the 2.8% Post Office pay increase in December’s salaries / wages. This mirrors the pay uplift arrangements that our Post Office members will also be receiving in December.

This positive development primarily impacts upon the former Cash in Transit members who performed Safenet duties. We understand there are approximately 130 members affected by this situation and in the main these members will be performing driving duties. Consequently, I would be grateful if Branches could bring this good news to the attention of our ex Post Office members.

We haven’t been able to report on this matter earlier as there was some confusion surrounding the issue. Effectively the MTSF arrangements are complex now that the Post Office and Royal Mail are completely separate companies. However, following representations to Royal Mail, we have today received formal confirmation that the MTSF arrangements will continue to apply which means our members will receive the arrears of the 2.8% pay increase backdated to 1st April 2018 later this month.
