Many services unavailable due to glitch
La Poste has been paralysed by a computer bug.
The glitch in the postal service's matrix has hit all transactions at all 8,500 post office counters across the country. Frustrated customers cannot send registered mail, deposit or withdraw money at the counter, or even buy envelopes or parcels.
Internet and ATM services are operating normally, La Poste said in a statement.
Experts are working to repair the fault, which is thought to be a major technical failure as opposed to hacking, but has set no time for the return of normal services.
