can we cash in shares next October,how can I find out how much my 913 shares are worth in £s now ,got my username and password but what website is it on ?

The website will tell you how much your shares are worth at the minute.

Multiply your 913 shares at todays price very simple.

We can cash in the first allocation of 613 shares in October 2018 and pay no income tax or NIC’s on them. We will have to wait until the 5 years are up on the other 3 allocations to avoid tax on those, or 3 years if you’re prepared to pay tax.

The allocation dates are:

15th October 2013
9th April 2014
5th October 2015
6th October 2016

Logging into your online account will tell you. Or as has already been mentioned, multiply the number of shares you have by the current share price, which can be found on the ‘TV screen’ in your office, on My Royal Mail or any number of shares websites such as The London Stock Exchange site.

The current value of shares is shown on the Home page of this great website.

If Royal Mail continue to pay dividends at the rate of 23.1p per financial year (and most companies actually aim to increase dividends year-on-year), that amounts to at least 92.4p/share or £843 in income over the next four years... Worth hanging on?
