Applications still being taken for Stoke Village branch

Post Office bosses have insisted they're still committed to bringing Stoke Village's postal branch back into use.

The future of the Devonport Road building has been up in the air after Stoke's legendary postmistress Jenny Clarke bowed out of the business after a 43-year career in August.

Frustrated traders have said the closure of the branch is having a detrimental impact on footfall in Stoke - as the main draw in the high street is no longer there.

But now mail bosses have spoken out - and say they're still taking applications from budding postmasters and postmistresses who want to bring it back via http://www.runapostoffice.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But what exactly does the job entail - and what skills do you need to make a go of it?

A successful applicant will need to have:

Superb customer service and focus
Excellent business management skills and experience
Ability to communicate effectively and easily with your branch team and customers
Talent for motivating and managing your branch team to ensure excellent customer service for all customers
Strong conversational skills, actively listening and responding to customers’ needs
Ability for hiring and training great team members for your branch
Quick to identify potential business opportunities and keen to implement innovative ways of working to promote Post Office products within your business

Jenny Clarke cannot find anyone to take it on so has to close up shop

Pay: In the current location, in the range of £16,000 - £18,000 per annum.

And there's money available up front to get you going.

Post Office investment: In the region of £10,000 available to help create this new opportunity.

Closing date: 11 January 2018 (Advert may close early if sufficient interest is registered)

Any retailer or small business owner interested in running the Post Office and incorporating it into their business should ring 0845 266 8790 and talk to an advisor or email NTquestions@postoffice.co.uk

Everybody knows what a Post Office is and what it does so instead of those ninety words of jargon why doesn't Jenny Clarke just advertise for someone that can run a Post Office well ? :thumbup
