A 48-year-old employee of the U.S. Postal Service was charged with battery after ramming a coworker with a pallet filled with parcels.
The victim told DeFuniak Springs Police Department officer that she saw her coworker approaching at “a high rate of speed,” according to his arrest report
He struck her with the pallet, bruising her hip. She told the officer that she became pinned between the pallet and the mail hamper.
She yelled at the suspect to stop striking her, but he refused to pull the pallet back.
He told the victim she needed to be more aware of her surroundings and go home if “she couldn’t take the heat,” the report said.
The victim said the suspect was always trying to touch her at work and that she wanted to press charges for injuries sustained by the pallet of parcels.
The suspect said he’d been advised not to make a statement.
The officer spoke to his supervisor, who shared witness statements that were part of their internal investigation.
