The value of your SIP 2015 Free Shares when you were given them

We can confirm that the initial market value of SIP 2015 Free Shares is 457.9p per share. HM Revenue & Customs requires us to initially value your SIP 2015 allocation of Free Shares based on the closing mid-price on 5 October 2015.

The initial market value of a full-time employee’s SIP 2015 allocation of 103 Free Shares is £471.63. Eligible part-time employees have been given a proportionate, or pro-rata, number of SIP 2015 Free Shares*. If this number is less than 10, their award has been rounded up to 10 Free Shares.

The closing mid-price is the mid-point between the lowest price at which investors have declared that they are willing to sell Royal Mail shares and the highest price at which investors are prepared to buy Royal Mail shares, based on the last trades of the day.

Remember: the value of your shareholding will be determined by the share price when you sell your shares.

In line with HM Revenue & Customs rules, you cannot sell your Free Shares until three years after each allocation is given to you, except in certain circumstances. This means the value of the shares if and when you sell them will most likely change from the initial market price.

* based on their paid hours between 1 June 2015 and 30 August 2015 for weekly-paid employees; and between 1 June 2015 and 31 August 2015 for monthly-paid employees.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I thought we were supposed to be getting this latest allocation yesterday. I checked my shares online, and it tells me i still have 729?. I think the letter we received said they would be given to us on October the 5th at around 90s shares.

My understanding was that we were issued them on the 5th too.

Give it a few days to show up on your online shares account. :cuppa
