Peterborough Angard lack of shifts, advice please

Post by Fredfish »

Hi, I was a christmas temp xmas 2014 and requested to apply for angard as they were pleased with my performance. Since transfering with Angard, which took 3 weeks in Jan I have had one 6 hour shift in Jan, 4 weeks later 28th days past and I was asked to reregister for security checks. After complaining I finally got another shift that same day, now 3 weeks later, still struggling to get shifts, yet they constantly are recruiting new staff. I was told, by managers at xmas that the way through the system is Angard and then you can apply to perm positions after 12 weeks, yet I am struggling to get a shift, let alone enough to live off.

Is there anything I can do to increase the shifts I am getting? Is it likely to get any better, now we're starting new tax year. I have been holding out for this magic 12 week number so that if perm positions are available I can apply and hopefully I am in with a half decent chance starting in the new tax year. Am I even going to be able to apply to permanent position (saturday or otherwise) when my contract start date is 12 weeks, yet I have only had 2, possibly 3 shifts by then, or will they say you haven't worked 12 weeks with Angard to qualify? Thanks for any advice and assistance you can provide.

The magic 12 weeks is nothing to do with getting a permanent positions, you can apply for them at any time just like all Angard employees and Civilians. The 12 week limit is when under the new Agency employee Laws you are entitled to the same BENEFITS and PAY as permanent staff.
