It looks like Amazon is planning Prime Air delivery drone tests in the UK! -

Amazon's bonkers Prime Air delivery service aims to send you your packages via the power of an unmanned drone, but the e-tailer has been fairly quiet on rolling it out across the world. Us Brits could be in for a treat soon though, as Amazon has posted a job advert searching for a flight operations engineer, hinting that UK tests could be on the way! Are you ready for your Amazon delivery to arrive via drone? Read on for all the details!

Amazon first revealed its crazy new initiative last year, and while the delivery drone is trying to gain traction in the US, the e-tailer is currently waiting for FAA approval before it can move forward. It looks like Amazon's turned it's attention to the UK, and is thinking about bringing the Prime Air delivery drones to the UK if a new job posting is anything to go by.

Amazon's aiming to bring onboard a flight operations engineer to work in Cambridge, and the desired candidate will be essentially responsible for safety during indoor and outdoor flight tests. The operations engineer will also be responsible for ensuring that safety policies are followed, and also planning the future of the drone program.

That's not the only role that Amazon's looking to fill, as it's also advertised for a Site Leader, Project Man, Software Development Engineer, Senior Research Scientist and an Office Manager to work on the project, based in Cambridge. It sounds like Amazon's really getting serious about it's drone delivery service, and we could be seeing results in the near future. If Russia can get pizza drone deliveries nailed, let’s hope we can start getting our Amazon orders flown over to our houses soon.
