You only receive a pay advice if there have been any changes to the amount of pension or deductions.

So usually once or twice a year.

Don't know why you have been getting monthly pension advices. I have been getting RM pension since mid 2011. I only get a statement when there is a change from the previous month's pension. Usually when it goes up in April, or when there's a tax rebate or change in tax code.

I got one this month because it seems I have been deducted standard rate tax (20%) every month for the whole tax year since April, but HMRC sent a new tax code as RM haven't taken into account that I should only be paying on the amount above the tax exempt level.
I got a £600 tax rebate. :Very Happy
