DPD has invested £10.2m in six depots – Dartford, Feltham, Radlett, Reading, Liverpool and Lincoln – expanding its capacity to handle B2C parcels.
Lincoln, Liverpool and Radlett are new locations for the company, while Dartford, Feltham and Reading are replacements for existing depots.
The new depots, which collectively are expected to create over 250 new jobs, will expand DPD's capacity to handle a significant increase in B2C parcel volumes generated by its hugely successful one-hour timeslot service, Predict.
Dartford, Feltham, Reading and Radlett are 36,000 sq ft depots, each representing a £2.5m investment.
It has increased capacity at Dartford from 2,000 to 8,000 parcels a day. It can accommodate 50 new routes and take volume from DPD's depots in London Central, Croydon and Maidstone. It will also serve the Bluewater shopping centre.
Radlett was chosen as a new location to help manage growing volumes in north London.
Lincoln and Liverpool are 27,500 sq ft sites, each representing an investment of £100,000. In total, DPD expects to add 250 jobs at the six sites.
CEO Dwain McDonald said: "Our business has grown rapidly in the last few years due to the popularity of Predict and Follow My Parcel, but this level of investment in brand new locations and larger, purpose built depots makes a huge difference in terms of efficiency."
