Re: Unfair treatment
Because some of the people at Angard that "organise" the people going to work have no clue how to share the work out.

They are probably still on minimum wage. Wait until they get AWR qualified - I suspect they will not get so many hours then.Bazza01 wrote:What I want to know is how are people getting 5 shifts a week plus SaturdayVerging wrote:Because some of the people at Angard that "organise" the people going to work have no clue how to share the work out.

True and of course Royal Mail have no influence on who Angard send do they ?. Both Royal Mail and Angard will tell you that if you are AWR qualified or not makes no difference. But we both know that's just BOLL***SVerging wrote:They are probably still on minimum wage. Re: Unfair treatment
angard don't have a clue at times . the awr part is true once you are qualified you don't get sod all. in total this year from the 1st of jan all I have had is 9 shifts in total . then they have the cheek to phone you up 35miutes before a shift starts and expect you to drop what your doing and help them out . that's all well and good if you drive and live near the office but im nearly 2 hours away by public transport . and even if you do manage to get work theres no guarantee that you will be paid correctly . my last shift was over 2 weeks ago and im still waiting for them to pay me correctly .at the end of the day you have to weigh up is it worth the hasstle

Re: Confused Employee!!!!
Can anyone tell me why regular Angard staff who have been working for sometime at Leeds Mail Centre have no hours next week, and have only had the odd day or so recently, and yet Angard are advertising currently on the website for new staff?!!
Does the law allow for getting new staff cheaper I.E. Two staff for the price of one!!
Can not believe that a massive company like Royal Mail allow this to happen
Does Moya have any idea what really goes on in this business and how frustrated we agency workers are at the way we get treated??
Would welcome any feedback!!!???

Re: Unfair treatment
Employing cheaper labour probably happens everywhere and if you question it you get less work than you were getting - no matter what you were getting.
A typical reply from Angard when queries have been raised has been "if you do not like it you know what to do".
Worse thing seems to be the "sharing" of the work - it really does not happen fairly. Why do some people get in 5 days a week when others with similar capabilities/experience (or sometimes better/more) get in once, possibly twice, a week/month. This can happen with AWR qualified staff only or with new people only - it doesn't have to be an AWR person compared with a new starter.
Is it legal - unfortunately I suspect it is still within the letter of the law but morally, in my opinion, they really should not do what they do. Personally, I think it is verging on AWR avoidance. ''
What is the point in recruiting new staff and giving current staff less work than they are getting. New staff get taken off Job seekers with no guaranteed hours - some get lots but some get a few (probably less than Job Seekers in some cases) - eventually they will nearly all get down to just a few hours.
Does Moya know - highly unlikely.

Re: Unfair treatment
I would love to know if you lot are using a different Angard to me...i have never had a problem with pay (with the exception of 2 weeks ago but that was down to RM forgetting to send the sheet to Angard)
I have never been told "you know what to do" when i've phoned up about lack of work instead i have always had an apology and explanation as to possible reasons for the lack of work,in the year and a half i have worked there I have only gone 3 weeks without a single shift and probably no more than 15/20 weeks with only getting 1 shift
There has never been any preference in our office over non AWR casuals (Angard get the same profit regardless of who they use)

Re: Unfair treatment
Hi, its say Crows are always black. its happen every where in all depot. thats the policy of governments and big company like RM. And if you work for or through agency they treat you like a dog. System should be fair. Seniors should have first priority especially if you work for agency. And there should be a independent representative in wherever agency staff working or complaint department. I don't think Angard or other agency have one.
