RM Postman vs. TNT Postie

I am looking for a job as an RM Postman or TNT Postie. Does anyone know what wages are like at RM vs. TNT for new workers?

Also, how many homes/hour do postmen typically need to cover at RM and how does that compare to TNT?

Royal Mail Approx starting pay £8.75 going up to £9.75 after a year.

TNT - National Minimum.

We cant measure hours/homes in Royal Mail or TNT as many factors such as affluence, density, type, location and distance all have an influence on how many calls you make in an hour or for the whole duty.

You'll be expected to deliver more basic size letters with TNT because that all they deliver. Royal Mail won't expect you to do as many calls in the same area as a TNT postie. Thats because we deliver many different types of letters, flats and packets so its a little more involved and requires more organisational ability.

However, with Royal Mail overtime is nearly always available - with TNT they apparently tell you to return to base if you are going to be claiming overtime.
