Labor court orders workers and management to return to negotiations after three-day action

Postal workers ended a three-day partial strike Tuesday after the Jerusalem Labor Court ordered workers and management to resolve the dispute through negotiations.

The Israel Postal Company workers began their strike on Sunday, cutting work hours at post offices.

The court instructed the two sides to hold talks during the coming month. As part of the agreement to return to work, their pay will not be docked for the days they were on strike, Israel Radio reported.

Post office workers throughout the country staged the limited strike in protest at what they called “unreasonable pressure” placed upon them due to budget constraints, which led to a deterioration of employees’ working conditions and long waits for customers.
