I think being a postman/woman is properly the best job ever your out and about you meet new people all the time and you get to wear a great uniform what's better then that...

My question is would becoming a manager be even more rewarding?

The problem is the new people you meet might be knife carrying junkies with a cool looking mastiff begging to take a lump out of your leg. If you don't expect that at some point then you're naive.

As to uniform, if you want to chose a job with a good uniform then I hear they're still looking for cannon fodder for the next illegal invasion. Just to clarify I am saying that as an Ex-serviceman.

The uniform is designed by people who don't do the job and it cannot stand up to the rigours of hard work, the kagoule can barely cope with decent mist never mind real rain.

Manager more rewarding - it is in the pay packet and current bonuses, not in self worth though - However word of warning the cull of them is going to be brutal, and the ones that are left will be sycophantic yes men who have the leadership qualities of Stalin and Hitler and the management skill of Mr Bean. But thats only my bleak if somewhat depressing opinion and I may be wrong.
