UK Mail's hybrid mailing service, imail, has opened a brand new sort centre facility within UK Mail's existing Livingstone depot. UK Mail, one of the largest express delivery companies in the UK, already have a depot in the Livingston area based in Deans Industrial Estate.

The new sort centre in Livingston is the first integrated Scottish based print and mail solution and with the implementation of two state of the art Konica Minolta C8000 printers, the new sort centre is now fully equipped to start printing letters and marketing postcards. The expansion has had a £250,000 investment and has already have introduced 4 new positions with the plan for further investment and more jobs to be created in the local area next year.

Andy Barber, General Manager of imail said, "I'm pleased to announce the opening of the new sort centre facility in Livingston. From a standing start, late 2008, imail now prints and mails more than 20m client letters and postcards annually and with the addition of the new sort centre, we now have the capacity to grow further. We're expecting to invest a further £500,000 in the next year and double the number of staff.

Local MP for the Livingston area Graeme Morrice also commented on the expansion "I congratulate UK Mail on its recent expansion at their large facility in my Livingston constituency. This will allow them to employ more sort centre staff from the local area therefore helping to tackle unemployment."

imail allows organisations to send letters, direct mail, marketing cards and other forms of correspondence from their PC, Mac, or Laptop. Printing, production and postage of the letters is included, allowing their customers to consolidate this into one clear, concise and simple payment, increasing cost and efficiency savings.
