prices

have the prices of "recorded signed for" gone up dramatically recently?
I seem to remember sending parcels of up to 5kg not so long ago, recorded signed for, for £9.72.
Today I sent our lass to the post office with a parcel weighing 2.21 kg, recorded signed for cost £11.25.
I was expecting it to be about 7 quid.

Looking at the chart (link below) I think she sent it 1st class - rather than standard parcels . That would account for the difference in cost.

Standard Parcels aren't recorded or signed for, I always send recorded. My question was has there been a price hike?
I see that list is dated april 2012, the £9.72- 4.9 kg may have been previous to this?

There's no Second Class over 1kg, so a First Class packet of 2kg to 4kg is £10.30 + 95p Recorded Delivery = £11.25.
Last year for the same item you paid £8.95 + 77p = £9.72
Two years ago it would have been £8.22 + 74p = £8.96.
Above inflation price rises are because it's more of a business than a public service now :sad: and it's not going to get any better. :sad:
