Introduction

Post by benjenkins »

Hello :Very Happy A little introduction to myself, all pretty basic stuff so to avoid being identified personally.
I'm Male, Work Area Manager, and a Recovering Alcoholic and received alot of help and support from Senior Management when I finally admitted I had a problem.
They also gave me a second chance when I was at Stage 3 Attendance, however now I feel particularly let down.
They were unable to accomodate my request for a day of my leave so that I could Celebrate my First Anniversary of Sobriety  A Special Day for Myself and my Partner and Family.
Senior Management knew how important that day was to me and within 10 mins of putting in a request for a day's leave was informed by e-mail that the book was full and my request was therefore refused  .
It annoys me that the Business who claims to care about it's employee's and wich has also benefitted from my sobriety because I haven't been off sick since I got sober dealt with with my request so shabbily.
Regars: A Demotivated Member Of Staff

A disappointment obviously but surely not too significant compared to your great achievement over twelve long months.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

This would be a local thing mate, you would have to see your union rep and possibly your area rep/branch.
