New Asbestos Regulations came into force on 6 April 2012.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
These new regulations completely replace the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, which have been revoked with effect from 6 April 2012. These new asbestos regulations have been introduced because the European Commission decided that the UK had not fully implemented the EU Directive on exposure to asbestos (Directive 2009/148/EC). The new regulations are very similar to the 2006 regulations but there are some changes.
