Just wondered as I have been on sick leave since saturday and yesterday was my day off, how many days I am allowed until I have to provide proof of sickness?
I did inform my manager that I was unwell last friday and that I may not be in, I spoke to him this morning and told him again I wasnt going to be in and he in an unsympathetic manner told me I needed to be off 5 days before I needed a note but quizzed me if I had gone to the doctors! So I was wondering if the 5 days includes weekends and days off aswell? Otherwise, even though I am still poorly I will go back tomorrow because getting a doctors appointment is never easy!

you self certificate for the first seven days of sickness inc weekend days that run concurrently.
if you are sick for 8 days or more your dim might want to see a doctors note.
