Just a quick question to any of you guys that work at a Post Office or have any knowledge in this area -
We are a business customer of RM, but not an account holder and still post our items at the PO. However, we were granted an online account to order free mailing supplies such as rolls of labels, pouches etc. Anyway, we've got pouches for everything - special delivery, 1st, 2nd etc.
Just wondered, when I go to the post office, although I get proof of posting for everything, if i'm posting something by AirSure for example, should I give it to them in the secure pouch (with it not sealed of course) so when it gets to the mail centre it can easily be found amongst other items that are just going by standard AirMail? Or does the PO have different sacks for different services? For example, we usually put the AirSure/Signed For label and flash label onto the item, and they just have to scan it into their system and put on their gold label to show i've paid for it.
Hope I haven't made this too complicated!! Your replies would be much appreciated, thanks.

Do you usually use one particular post office? I'd check with them. I only have one customer that brings in specials in pouches, I always put them through my system before sealing it up.

Yes, one or two.spudqueen wrote:Do you usually use one particular post office? I'd check with them. I only have one customer that brings in specials in pouches, I always put them through my system before sealing it up.
What we have done today is take the mail in a RM mail sack with all of the mail in 4 "Special Delivery" pouches inside and I put a sticker of the service on each one, so when I go to the PO I can do the mailing in order of services e.g: 1st recd, 2nd recd, special delivery, airsure etc.
I haven't actually handed them the pouches, just used them for transporting the mail to the PO.
Just to make it clear, the reason we currently don't give the mail to them in the pouches or seal the pouches is because we only put the address and barcoded labels on the package, and pay for the items at the PO. Otherwise, we could just hand over a sack.
We're spending on average £60/day on mail with a half-full mail sack, and it seems the more mail we post, the quicker it gets as the lady behind the counter tries to get it all done quickly!
Do any of you have any advice on what I am doing? Or is this OK? Thanks
