You are right on there darren - I don't think we could raise a walkout on the gate for 7 seconds, regardless of the reason.Darren Bent wrote:Can't see a strike lasting 7 weeks these days.

Re: Sweet FA
The union told us back then that we would not go back to work untill we got exactly what we went on strike for. Guess what, 7 weeks later we went back for less. Arise Sir Tom Jackson. You wonder why some of us don't have a very high opinion of the men at the top. In the 43 years iv'e worked for rm i can't think of one of our top bods that didn't sell his princilples for a place in parliament.Darren Bent wrote:what the story about 1971 strike ?

Well guys i did retire on the 27th(thats 43years) and i have not had a single communication from rm. No papers to sign, no recognition that i had ever worked there. Absolutley nothing. When you tell people, they think you are winding them up. So there you go, now you know the reality of what rm think of you. Valued members my arse!!!!!!!

Re: Sweet FA
Good luck to you in your retirement mate - I hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine. I'm not surprised by your comment as on my last day I went out on delivery as usual only I never went back. Not a word from RM officially although to be fair the local DOM wished me all the best. I walked out with a full uniform, security badges and a set of pouch box keys. So much for mail integrity and security.jafferpants wrote:Well guys i did retire on the 27th(thats 43years) and i have not had a single communication from rm.
