Hi,
So basicly im wondering if its possible not to get my package delivered to my house.
If i buy something online and it when it gets to my local post office, am i able to go pick it up myself without the package getting delivered to my house?
The reason is i want to buy a present for my wife and if it would get delivered when im not home, she would open it and that would ruin my suprise.
So i dont want the package to be delivered to my house but kept at my local post office?
Is this possible at all? What would i have to do?
Thanks in advance!

Its possible to stop all mail by using the keepsafe service but i don't think it can be done with a single item.
Can't you get it delivered to a neighbours or other family member?

Use Royal Mail's Poste Restante service, with the package addressed to - Your name, Post Restante, Your local Post Office's address.Robtay8844 wrote:Hi,

From the Royal Mail website "Poste Restante
If you're travelling but want to stay in touch, you can take your letterbox with you. People can address mail to you and send it to any UK Post Office™ * and some main post offices in larger towns abroad. You can use the service for up to three months in any one UK town for any letters.
* The Poste Restante service is subject to operational capability."
"Arrangement for Poste Restante Services,
December 2010
If we have the facilities available at the Post Office branch you choose, we may allow you to use that branch as your address in certain circumstances and for a limited time. This is known as the Poste Restante service and is only available if you are travelling around and in practice unable to have your post delivered any other way.
It is your responsibility to ensure that anyone sending a letter to you addresses it with the words ‘to be called for’ or ‘Poste Restante’ and your full and correct surname clearly set out, as well, of course, as the address of the Post Office branch.
You may collect a Poste Restante letter from the Post Office branch during normal opening hours.
We may refuse to hand over a letter if we are not satisfied as to your identity and may treat it as undeliverable – see below.
We will keep a Poste Restante letter for collection for 14 days if it was posted in the UK (including the Channel Islands and Isle of Man); for one month if it was posted overseas; and for two months if it is addressed to a Post Office branch at a sea port if you are arriving by ship; after which it will be returned as undeliverable.
We may refuse to keep a letter for collection if we think the service is being misused and will treat it as undeliverable in accordance with the Inland Letter Post Scheme as we will any letter not collected within the timescales referred to above."
