Collect+ is offering a new collection and delivery service that allows customers to take a packet weighing less than 2Kg to their local corner shop and have it delivered to any mainland UK address within 3-5 working days.
The service will cost £3.99 including VAT whereas a comparable service from Royal Mail costs £4.41.
The Collect+ service uses Jiffy bags to contain the item for delivery and they will allow any size of Jiffy bag as long as the 2Kg weight restriction is observed.
An added benefit of using the Collect+ service is that corner shops generally have longer trading hours than Post Offices and are often open seven days a week.
This makes it easier for senders to drop of their parcels at a time to suit them, rather than be tied to the more restrictive Post Office trading hours.
Mark Lewis, CEO of Collect+, commented on this new service:
“Our mission is to provide the most convenient service at the best possible price for the consumer. Since launching in February, demand for sending parcels via Collect+ from corner shops has been incredibly strong showing that there is a genuine appetite among consumers for a delivery and collection service on their doorstep that is transparently priced.”
“By introducing our £3.99 offer for Jiffy Bags below 2kg in weight, we’re making our service even more attractive to senders of all sizes of parcels.”

Collect+ Cheaper than Royal Mail
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

"The service will cost £3.99 including VAT whereas a comparable service from Royal Mail costs £4.41."
£4.41 is for a 'Standard Parcel' up to 2kg, but most of those 'jiffy bags' would be under 1kg so could go at just £3.15 or less as a Second Class 'Packet'
£3.99 might be 42p cheaper than Royal Mail but it might be quite a bit dearer.
And there's no mention of a possible £46 compensation.

"their local corner shop" indeed
Type in your your postcode on their website and local corner shops are very, very thin on the ground compared to Post Offices
