I have started finally done 3 days training and now im ready to go it on my own (apperantly) :left: Anyway my trainer was absoulutly fantastic and was really helpfull been told that any issues or anything that i was unsure about just go and see them . The job: mmmm well i love the walking and delivering side of things but my god what a ballacher when you have to sort all the mail yourself btw im on p/t contract which as far as knew you had the sorting done for you oh well and returns etc. I can actually sympathase with my postman turning up at about 4.15 pm still delivering other than that love the job. :Very Happy  :Very Happy

You are right, your walk should be ready for you if you are part time.the most you should have to do is tie it up,if you are having to prep and do redirections and dead letters then this will eat in to your delivery time resulting in you working over your alloted hours.
There are 2 ways to deal with this,if you are happy for this to carry on and dont mind staying out to complete your delivery and claiming protracted overtime then carry on,if you are not and only want to work your contracted hours then speak to your Dom and local rep and let them know this and it will be up to them to sort out a soultion.
Yes you will struggle at first,it takes at least 12 weeks to get the hang of this job imho, you will have light days and heavy days, but if you are Part time and only have to deliver then its down to the managers to make sure your walk is ready for you, just make sure you are paid overtime for any hours you work over your duty time.
Good luck and make sure you join the CWU.

Oh yes, watch out for grasses backstabbers and sweetners, these are just your workmates. Good thing is though if your lucky enough to get on a full time round you can finish anything from 1 hour too 2 hours before your meant to. You then get a chance to take packets and parcels out for 3 hours overtime even tough you will finish in your normal full time hours, this means you will get paid till 6 and you will be home at 2.30. Good eh? its a doddle in braintree, they give you money you dont have to do your households either , the management are easy, they dont care mate, good luck
