Is there any hope at all?

Post by The BFO »

Extract from ‘Briefing Notes to accompany Paula’s Letter’:

What do you mean by productivity?

We are using two measures in the coming financial year to assess productivity and to drive improved performance.

First, total variable income as a ratio to staff costs. This ratio is currently 1:27 i.e. for every £1 we generate, we spend £1.27 on staff costs. In three stages, over the course of the next plan period, we plan to improve this ratio to 1:1 or better.

Second, we will use a ratio called ‘Throughput’. This is a measure of how much work is completed in a branch for each hour of staff time. Throughput varies greatly between branches, indicating that some branches have found ways to work better and faster. In the first instance we will look to bring all branches up to the average currently achieved across a group of similar branches.

Proof, if it were needed, that they do not have a clue. If you spend five years encouraging everyone to stand around talking bollocks, what would you expect?

They say that everything is cyclical. Several years ago 'Quality of Service' was the big thing, or more accurately waiting times on Mystery Shopper reports. That went away when Sales was 'invented', only to come back when the customers understandably complained about waiting so long. Now it's Throughputs again, something we stopped talking about years ago, I guess they never really went away did they? But then everything is cyclical, so they say.

And they are still rattling on about being paid more than others in the banking sector.

I'm good friends with managers, (they weren't always so forgive me), from Natwest and Santander down the road. They are paid £25,560 and £26,632 (precisely!) respectively.

Our branch manager/s are on NO LESS THAN £30,000 minimum!

We all have access to the outside world, do not try to skew the facts.

DO YOU THINK WE ARE F**KING STUPID MUGS, DICKIE BOY AND PAULA??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU are the mugs. We will walk. In Branches up and down the country. We will f**k your income up! You can't get income/growth when all you've got on the counter is a stressed out manager and w*****s from Old Street who don't know what the f**k they're doing! I Can't wait...
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

Well said Billy :Applause

Let's see the overpaid volunteers on the counter, cause we never seen them at Christmas. Probably too busy counting their wage increase.

Like I've said in a previous post. Hit them in their pocket like they're hitting yours.
