fitting frames

We are currently having new frames fitted in our office, does any one know if Romec are supposed to fit them, as they are currently being fitted by brown-noseing posties and our manager??!!

that's who did ours the work place coach and the DOM, don't know who is supposed to do it, could be a case of saving money DIY

We no longer have a H&S rep in our office(not that he was anygood anyway) the area rep is nigh on imposible to get hold of. When l confronted my DOM about this and mentioned that l thought Romec was supposed to fit these frames his reply was "only if some metal has to be cut" so Romec not needed according to him?

Also does anyone have a link or something written down that l could print off to show my DOM that he and a postie should not be fitting these frames please?

It's alright this doing stuff for the boss (erecting frames). What is an accident meant losing an eye for instance. Where would that brown nose be for a claim? The DOM aught to know better and probably does but we all know that, if Romec are involved they s**t themselves as they write their own cheques if they do work for Royal Mail.
As previously said, alert HQ via email so you have proof and leave it at that. They'll contact whoever and pass on the complaint.

I vaguely remember someone saying that you can't assemble frames during your duty time but you can on overtime. Something to do with it not being part of your expected work but 'flatpack assembly' is acceptable for unskilled overtime.

A guy in my office had to have 3 operations and was off sick for almost 2 years after doing his back in when a manager asked him to help move a frame. We don't move the frames any more :)
