Parcel carrier Yodel is moving into City Link's old West Midlands DC in 2011 to aid its £1bn revenue target.
The company has acquired the freehold to the 121,000ft2 facility in Wednesbury, which will open in the summer of 2011. The hub was previously occupied by City Link, which transfered operations to Coventry.
Jonathan Smith, Yodel CE, says: "We must continue to invest in order to achieve our £1bn business aim, and will only achieve this by providing unrivalled choice and great customer service. This type of initiative will help us deliver our strategy.
"The Wednesbury site will reinforce the breadth and depth of service offering to our clients and their customers for many years to come."
Yodel was not able to confirm how many jobs would be created via the purchase.
