Thanks so much and I agree with everything U are saying. It is happening to everything as I am lnow earning. Where I live Children's Services and schools are being slowly privatised, with Sure Start being run by a social enterprise thingy (which makes a profit even if doesn't have shareholders) and it feels awful, so I have educated myself on all these issues and I do think all of this is political. I think you should all get full support from eveyone in this country - what will be left if we keep selling things off and treating us all like dirt! I am SO angry about what is happening to the postal service and want you all to succeed (well, us I guess thinking a bit more about it)!. What can we all do!

Re: ELLO SUSIE M...
Spot on Tommo. If things were run properly, the customer (the average man and woman, not just the likes of Amazon etc) would sit on a joint commitee with members of the union and work out how best to meet everyones needs. As it is now, postal workers and customers are dictated to by an inept management and a cluelss pair of footpads who will be off asset stripping something else in a few years.L Tommo wrote:Might i add.. And thanks Susie M. Just like the postal service, education is under attack from this shower. What we have in common is Alan Johnson. Sold us out first them moved on to sell out an entire generation of young people as Secretary of State for Education. I worship the ground that's coming to him.

hello again
problem is loads of people don't feel they can change anything - so your courage will surely help to give people some hope. I wish there was a mass strike - everyone together! my dad was a miner, so can recall the horrible mess of Thatcher - and now we have Brown. Why don't people wake up a bit and really see that the public sector is being sold-off.
Are U getting support from other unions? Sorry for ignorance. Customers should picket with you!

Unison and PCS members were very supportive last Saturday in Liverpool and the various anarchist and left groups all showed solidarity. A mass strike would be the ideal thing. It's what we should have done for the miners in the 80s and the dockers in the 90s. Instead, we got members of TUC affiliated unions scabbing, driving scab coal up and down the motorways and in the case of the dockers, driving cranes. The unions have lost the ideal of 'An Injury To One Is An Injury To All' and are more concerned about 'partnership' with the bosses. It's up to the rank and file to contact their unions and tell them to start fighting for us. Billy Hays is supposed to be on £120,000 a year. Anyone on that kind of money has got nothing in common with me (except his birthplace in Billy's case)susie m wrote:hello again

That's very good of you. I think we should be supporting teachers. Here's a piece I wrote about school closures around our way;susie m wrote:Well, it's a start. Unison are having a meeting here tomorrow about Karen Reissman which I've found about in my battel (with other parents) to stop social enterprises- it is a public meeting so I am going to go. I am going to ask why my union don't support you, and get on their case.

Hi Susie, yeah we have to fight together on this. My branch of Unison wants joint action with the postal workers and other public sector workers over the same stuff. At the moment the unions are playing along with the bosses' game letting us all go it alone. Us trying to work together is an important step I think.susie m wrote:Well, it's a start.
