Special Delivery Next day tracking

Hi there, im having a total panic about my recently sent Special delivery Next Day tracking item. I sent it 13 days ago and when i tracked it this morning........(just out of interest). I noted it said

"Special Delivery™ Next Day items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent.

Information on your item is not yet available online."


IM COMPLETELY BESIDE MYSELF........i sent every bit of personal information in this envelope. Passports, my daughters, husbands and my birth certs. Wage slips, bank details etc.....

The only thing i can think of is that the item has reached there and after a certain date these items will not show up on the system if they have been delivered a while.

Please someone tell me how long the tracking details of special delivery items are kept on the system for???????????????

Don't worry special delivery is a guaranteed next day service. The only thing I can think of is the postman has left a while you where out card and that is why it doesn't show up in the system as delivered. Phone customer service and give them the barcode number, they will more than likely track your parcel for you.

Yes, that's most likely, Nobody in, so a "Sorry you were out" card left at the premises and the item is being held for THREE WEEKS at the Delivery Office before being returned to the sender. :Very Happy so Don't panic. :shock:

Have you contacted the recipient to ask if it's arrived?

Plus, the items should be scanned into and out of the DO so there should be some sort of trail with it.

Thanks for your replies....

Would there be a sorry you were out card if it was delivered to a company?? It should have been delivered to the NHS bursaries department. I only thought to track it this morning as i havent had a receipt from the department to say it has arrived. Im getting really concerned. I will be contacting the bursary office in the morning at 8am.

Im just really concerned that its not showing up on the tracker system.

Any other thoughts??

Seems to me it hasn't even got to to the Mail Centre yet judging by the above.
It could be stuck at the PO you sent it from.

Only way to confirm it would be to phone the NHS on Mon.
