TNT Post bolsters marketing department

TNT Post has bolstered its marketing department to help support its expansion in the UK.

The mail operator has created four new roles, increasing the team to 11, as the Dutch company looks to capture a greater share of the business mail and bulk market and introduce more services.

Marc Francken has joined from TNT Post in the Netherlands as the first UK direct marketing manager, while Patrice Bendon joins as head of data development from Experian.

In addition, Emma Clarke has been named product development manager, while Lisa Willson has joined as a marketing executive.

TNT Post is the leading competitor to the Royal Mail in the collection and sorting of addressed mail and is a prominent player in the unaddressed UK door-drop marketing sector. However, it is hampered by the law that allows only Royal Mail to deliver mail over the last mile from local sorting office to people’s homes.

Nick Wells, chief executive of TNT Post, says the expansion of the marketing department will help the business as it looks for “opportunities to further open up the market through supplementary products, services and innovations”.

The business is looking to expand its workforce by 20% to over a 1,000 employees this year.

The new hires follow the appointment of marketing and customer services director Lieneke Happel and Melanie Darvall as head of marketing and communications in May 2009.

Bullshit, not sure why they mentioned DO's but we all know they can't be arsed to deliver the stuff.

They have a comment section, let's have a spamming session.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

and it's not "the last mile", more likely forty miles from Mail Centre to Delivery Office plus four miles from Delivery Office to 'people's homes'
"the last mile" makes it all sound so easy doesn't it, just like popping round the corner to the newsagent for your Daily Mail.
