POSTIES TO WALK OUT NEXT WEEK http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories ... -19407683/
Exclusive by Clinton Manning, Business Editor 05/07/2007

A SECOND 24-hour strike by postal workers is set to cripple services next Thursday.

Union leaders meet today to sanction the walkout by up to 130,000 staff in the bitter pay row.

And they are preparing to call longer strikes and considering tactics such as rolling walkouts on different days in different areas. But leaders of the Communication Workers are also writing to Royal Mail chairman Allan Leighton to spell out what would settle the dispute. Bosses will then have a week to head off the action.

The union says it will negotiate but management must offer something "meaningful" to re-start talks.
