Lost package = no wedding

Post by mags »

hi there,

I don't want to be treading on any toes here but i feel I have to write here as a last resort. My friend is due to get married in Bali in less than 3 weeks...Royal Mail have lost her and her fiances passports... no passports = no wedding. she had a reference number but the office has told her that the package is simply lost. is there anything at all that she can do? family and friends have booked flights, accommodation and no refunds are possible. Can somebody please help?!!! :o(

http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/nireland/ ... n_passport" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Checjk this page out and follow their advice.

If the passport is in the system it should turn up at the address it was sent to, or if the envelope has been damaged I would think the returns section in Belfast,or someone else, would send it on to the passport people at some point.

Good luck.

sent back to the holder you are right http://www.ips.gov.uk/cps/rde/xchg/ips_ ... l/1287.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All new and valid UK passports are delivered to customers by DX Secure. Customers also have the option to pay for the return of their supporting documents by secure delivery.
however, the customer may have sent them to the passport office by Royal Mail.

Mags: have you contacted the Passport office direct either for advice or to see if they have received it despite the track and trace system showing they haven't. Sometimes things are recorded wrong but actually work out OK.

Once again - Good luck.

passports are usually sent by special delivery or they are directly delivered to you in car by a company hired by the passport authorities, i got a new 1 last month dropped off and posted through my door by someone in the car.
