Wait for a packet from Northern Ireland for 7 weeks

Hello,
i'am from germany and i have ordered an item from Northern Ireland in september 2009. The item doesn't arrive yet.
The item is send by royal mail airmail. Can the delaying be part of the royal mail srike? How can I get any information where my item is?

No northern ireland is working normal at the minute. I think it may be lost in the post.

Or can it be, that the item will be fly from Norther Ireland to Germany over England?

No its route I think will be:

Collected by Local DO Collection driver
Dispatched to NIMC
Arrives MIMC and sent to mainland probbaly a London MC
London MC to HWRDC (or whatever its called basically the international hub at Heathrow)
Then sent to the Bundes post inward International hub for delivery by Deutsches Post or courier.

But that is a guess as I work in a DO.
