Veterinary Fees
Our dog was hit by a RM van on the private farm track to our house and has so far cost us in excess of £1600.00 in veterinary fees. The main thing is that she is relatively ok following intensive surgery to fix her leg back into its socket, albeit she will no doubt be lame for the rest of her days. We seem unable to even get hold of a claim form, despite being told over a week ago that one would be sent to us. It took ages to find someone willing to point us in the right direction, being put through to one dept, then another and so on and now I do not seem able to get an answer on the number we called only recorded messages that are of no relevence at all. What next ?

Re: Veterinary Fees
No win no fee solicitor - TBH not sure how to help with this as it is more of a corporate legal enquiry I think rather than one that Posties can answer on a voluntary basis like we do on this unofficial forum - sorry I could be of no more help.

Re: Veterinary Fees
I don't know how this would work as when we get bitten by a dog on private land that dogs owner doesn't compensate us. It may be a private road but shouldn't you like any other responsable dog owner keep your dog off the road and out of harms way.

I have a claim going through now.Being on private land is no excuse they still have a duty of care.shadow wrote:I don't know how this would work as when we get bitten by a dog on private land that dogs owner doesn't compensate us.

Re: Veterinary Fees
Not in my case.I heard the union soliciors normally accept a grand and that is that.My arm was ripped by a french mastiff causing punctures.severe bruising and a temporary loss of mobility in two fingers.Off work for three weeks.Having a dog like that attack and knowing you had no chance to defend yourself causes future stress etc. on future delveries. The dog was insured and I have a solicitor who has taken it on .They only do that if there is a very good case as they claim their costs of the defendant.shadow wrote:I thought the money that is received comes from RM.antcpfc wrote:I have a claim going through now.Being on private land is no excuse they still have a duty of care.shadow wrote:I don't know how this would work as when we get bitten by a dog on private land that dogs owner doesn't compensate us.
