A man has been left fuming after he did a little Christmas shopping online. Daniel Jordan was floored by the parcel he was handed by Royal Mail, expecting it to be a present
Christmas shopping brings its own pressures, but the stress intensifies dramatically when deliveries disappear into thin air. A recent incident left one man absolutely livid after Royal Mail allegedly messed up his delivery, presenting him with something completely unexpected. The item he discovered on his doorstep will leave you speechless.
David Oliver Jordan shared his bewildering shopping ordeal online, expressing his disbelief at the extraordinary turn of events. He had purchased a present in preparation for Christmas, only to receive something entirely different through the post, leaving him utterly flummoxed by an experience unlike anything he'd encountered before.
During his video explanation, he claimed his ordered gift had gone "missing", though Royal Mail had apparently left a substitute item instead. This isn't an isolated incident of vanishing parcels either.
David explained: "Has anybody else had this conundrum? A flat piece of cardboard delivered to my address with this message on the front in a plastic bag from the Royal Mail.

"The number and the website we tried, the phone number we tried for over an hour, eventually got through to someone. They said they would deal with it. Nothing has happened. This was last week."
He continued: "We haven't heard anything so yesterday I called the number again. Half an hour I was on the phone listening to their melodic music. Then I decided to give up.
"A flat piece of card. When our postman from the Royal Mail yesterday came to deliver our post, I asked her the question about what do we do if we can't get a hold of anybody or haven't heard from anybody?"
"She didn't have a clue, not a clue. 'I don't know, I'm very sorry this has happened, but we have to send whatever's delivered in a plastic bag if it's damaged'. There's nothing in it - it's just an empty piece of card."
David remains completely in the dark about his package's whereabouts, leaving him with nothing but a flimsy bit of cardboard. This is all that arrived instead of his expected delivery, accompanied by an apologetic message.
Amongst the responses, numerous people recommended he get in touch with the original sender to resolve the matter. The retailer might well be positioned to assist, after all.
What happens when a Royal Mail package goes missing?
Royal Mail has been approached for additional comment regarding this incident; nevertheless, the website does provide some further guidance. The information explains: "If an item has been posted with or handled by another postal operator then it will not be eligible for compensation for loss from Royal Mail under this policy unless the postal operator has posted the packet using one of the Royal Mail services, in which case that postal operator will be regarded as the sender of the item for compensation purposes.
"If an item has been damaged or suffered part loss the customer may be entitled to claim compensation, please refer to the compensation for damage or part loss policy.
"Royal Mail expects customers who are posting items that have an intrinsic value to take these to an access point that can provide them with appropriate evidence of posting an item with Royal Mail."
More information can be found at the website.
