A man has been jailed for more than three years for a string of drug offences.

Rigers Myqelefi, aged 27, was sentenced to 38 months in jail at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday.

On Thursday, July 3, officers from the Sentinel team saw Myqelefi leave an address on Harland Street on an electric bicycle.

The 27-year-old, who lives in the road, evaded police by manoeuvring around the vehicle and riding off at speed.

Officers found the discarded bicycle on Portman Road shortly after, and a member of the public told police that they had seen a male run towards the Portman Road car park.

Officers found the man under a Royal Mail van, within the chassis.

He was arrested and searched, and an iPhone, 11 bags of cocaine hidden in a cigarette box, and a set of keys were seized.

He was taken to custody for questioning.

Following this, a flat in Harland Street was searched and 45 bags of cocaine, 16 bags of cannabis, £2640 in cash, four mobile phones, a fraudulent driving licence and a yellow knuckle duster were seized.

During the interview, Myqelefi stated his involvement was due to a debt incurred following the theft of a previous quantity of drugs.

One phone revealed it had sent two messages advertising the sale of cocaine to 80 contacts.

Evidence indicated that Myqelefi offered to coordinate sales directly with customers and manage deliveries.

It was also established that Myqelefi had been wanted by police since 2022 in connection with driving offences and possession of fraudulent identification documents.

He was sentenced for possession with intent to supply cocaine, as well as possession with intent to supply cannabis, one count of possession of an offensive weapon and two counts of false documentation following his guilty pleas.

It's a 7.5 tonne lorry, it's not a van.

It doesn't sound like he is from the Ipswich Suffolk area either.
