A man from Ipswich who waved a knife and alarmed a postman will be sentenced next month.
Karwan Hussein had come out an address in Burlington Road on October 14 last year holding a knife, Suffolk Magistrates’ Court was told on Monday.
Hussein, who is of Meredith Road, admitted the offence of possessing a bladed article in public.
The court heard that on the day in question, a postman was delivering parcels to residents of Burlington Road, while an engineer was also outside, having been conducting fire alarm tests at several flats.
The 41-year-old Hussein then emerged from property, the court heard, holding a knife.
The court was told that the postman shouted to the engineer: “He’s got a knife, he’s a psycho.”
Hussein was said to have “brandished” the knife and approached the pair, at which point the police were called.
Hussein is due to be sentenced for this offence on August 18.
