Serious for delivering age verification
Just a heads up guys.
I delivered an age verification to a secure residential postbox without realising it was one till it was too late.( Nothing on the label but tracked)
Obviously i couldn't get it back out and I've been handed a years serious warning, so don't put any tracked parcels through a delivery point until you've rechecked what the PDA wants you to do.
I feel it's a bit heavy handed as no previous, but it is what it is.

Re: Serious for delivering age verification
It all depends on your actions when the prompt came up on the PDA after it was mistakenly delivered? ( though dont know how you could do that when you still had to take the photo after putting in the details and confirming the customer looks over 18 - the photo prompt is AFTER the age verification part )
If you immediately phoned your manager as soon as the PDA asked for age verification then I think you'd have got off with it
If you never and instead put in a made up date of birth and took a fake photo and faked the signature thats a different matter
If you did the latter, frankly you are lucky to still have a job given how serious RM are rightfully taking these products given children being stabbed with knives bought off Amazon and the likes

Re: Serious for delivering age verification
The first thing that appears on the PDA after confirm delivery to customer is input the recipients year of birth so it's actually impossible to deliver an AV item in error

Re: Serious for delivering age verification
It's very easy to do with an external postbox, if you don't know it's A.V
Scan barcode
Put parcel in postbox
Go to take picture of item in postbox ( As per tracked guidelines)
See it's A.V on PDA.
Screwed.

No it isn't
Scan barcode
Notice the black dot before the item number which indicates signature required.

Re: Serious for delivering age verification
Comes up sometimes wanting a signature when it’s not stated on the label. We were told it’s a glitch. Not seen age verification come up when not on the label but thanks for the heads up.

The age verification comes up as soon as you scan barcode I don't understand how you could f**k it up.

Re: Serious for delivering age verification
Seems the penalty is punitive and based on the system being absolute.
Did you or rep and manager check what information is generated on the pda.
In a case I dealt with we did recreate the situation and discovered the pda didn't register it as an age verification item.
So in this case it was item Id issue and so no further action required in relation to the conduct investigation.

How can you take a picture of the item in the postbox whilst not being able to retrieve it? The parcel needs to be in the picture so you would surely still be able to retrieve it until after the picture is taken
