A Kilmarnock man has blasted Royal Mail chiefs after claiming they've lost his late mum's birth certificate.

Devastated Stephen Wiseman is now pleading with locals that may have had the letter accidentally delivered to them instead

The heartbroken 28-year-old says that the vital document, along with his dad's birth certificate, his parents' marriage certificate and his birth certificate have vanished in the post.

Stephen said: "I'm gutted and heartbroken, Royal Mail managers have basically admitted that a postman has messed up.

"He has lost my late mum's birth certificate, dad's birth certificate, marriage certificate and mine.

"I'm hoping for a bit of luck Facebook will use its powers again. I'd literally pay every last penny to have these back."

The details on the letter are as follows: Stephen Marc Wiseman, 5 Kilmaurs Road, Kilmarnock, KA3 1NT.

Royal Mail bosses say they are actively investigating Stephen's complaint.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We take all customer issues seriously. We have received their complaint and are actively investigating.”

You can get copies but things like that should be sent by special delivery and it's the government not sending it back by the same service that is the worst offender.

They are all usually sent Tracked so RM should be able to identify where they were delivered, unless they weren't scanned upon delivery.

If they went through the normal Tracked stream then RM should be able to see when they arrived at the DO, even if no one at the DO scanned them.
