Reader letter: The public deserve better than this, Royal Mail!

SIR - Notwithstanding the recent excess of snow which understandably has disrupted services, it has become clear that mail had not been received by either residents or businesses in the Bradford area since the New Year.

It would seem Royal Mail has been prioritising parcel deliveries over normal mail and it remains a matter of concern when normal postal service will resume.

Considering the recent twice yearly increase in postal charges, resulting in prohibitively high charges, the service has declined almost in direct proportion.

The public deserve far better!

It’s not a public service, what the public think has no bearing, I’d like more from my car insurance but I don’t get it

It’s not a public service
In the recent past I had a cover manager attempt to manipulate me by invoking 'public service' whereupon I uncharacteristically blew my top and gesticulated at the entire aisle of unclear frames. I remain ready to fulfill it should the obstacles ever be removed, but let me be clear: it was not me that abandoned the pretence first.
The machine stops.
